BOOK A PRIVATE YOGA SESSION
A one to one private yoga session can provide a depth of individual attention that is not possible within a class setting.
We start from where you are right now (mentally, emotionally, physically) so that, between us we can devise a regular healthy routine that you find enjoyable and that is supportive of your body’s natural ability to heal.
As a certified yoga teacher and yoga therapist I have been trained to work with a range of physical and mental health conditions. It works best as a co-created process. You are the expert of your own body.
Through mindful movement, breathing practice and countless other tools in the yoga toolbox, we learn to come into the present moment and connect with our body, breath and mind in an amazing system that safely strengthens muscles and bones, improves mobility, balance and flexibility, and can help our nervous system to develop a calm resilience.
Depending on your needs, a private session may also include deep relaxation, discussion of values and goals, and suggestions for home practise.
ANY QUESTIONS?
What issues can one to one yoga help with?
Research suggests that slow mindful yoga may benefit the following health issues:
Anxiety, Balance, Depression, Diabetes, Digestive health, Grief, Fatigue, Flexibility, Heart health, Joint stiffness, Low back pain, Osteoporosis, Respiratory health, Sleep, Stress.
I have osteoporosis myself. I have completed the Bone Health & Osteoporosis Foundation’s (BHOF) BoneFit™USA 11 hour training and am accredited by them to work with people with low bone density.
What style of yoga do you teach?
I teach slow mindful therapeutic yoga, incorporating somatic movement, breath work and meditation. This helps create resilience in the nervous system and strength in the body.
I can also offer Chair Yoga which is for everyone regardless of age or ability and is particularly great for students whose balance and mobility may have been affected and need the chair for stability and support. People returning to exercise after injury or surgery can also really benefit from this modified form of yoga.
How much does a private session cost?
Private yoga sessions are available in person usually at my home in Hove. They are an opportunity to invest in yourself and the cost compares with treating yourself to a personal massage. Each session is about an hour long although the first session will normally be longer:
Introductory taster session @ specially reduced rate of £30
Otherwise:
1 session @£55
3 sessions @£150 (to be used within one month of first session in block)
6 sessions @£270 (to be used within two months of first session in block)
Home visits can be arranged (travel time charged extra)
Please speak to me if you would like to discuss any other options.
What is slow, mindful yoga?
A common misconception is that all yoga is about maximum flexibility. It’s not!
It is about getting to know yourself better by using various practices to help you improve your health and overall well-being. Although it will help you to improve your fitness, the goal of slow, mindful yoga is building awareness, self-regulating the nervous system and deepening self-understanding.

Yoga has been my long-term companion and my friend even if at times, the best I could manage was to breathe consciously and rest my legs up against the wall. That too is yoga.
I live in the vibrant seaside metropolis of Brighton in the UK (well, Hove actually!) and I teach private yoga lessons mainly from my home, sometimes from yours (that's something we can discuss).
I have been a marriage guidance counsellor with Relate, a professional coach, an air hostess with British Airways and many other things in between. Yoga is what I come home to .. always!
Yoga wakes my body up in the morning and makes me feel good. I use it to energise me, to ground me, to calm me, to strengthen me and to connect me to the present moment.
The only way that you can see how it might work for you too is to come and try it.
